Our Creative Director, Morgan, has been working closely with Misery Signals since May 2020, where he directed and shot their music video “The Tempest” - the first song off of what would be their final album “Ultraviolet”. He then went on to direct and shoot the video for “Sunlifter” from the same album.

Later in 2020, as a result of COVID’s impact on the band’s ability to tour, they produced “Live: In Isolation” - a 45 minute live performance - which Morgan directed and edited, along with also participating in a live Q&A with the band.

When Misery Signals announced their final tour dates in 2024, Morgan was then invited to attend and document their final UK show in London that August where he produced the first iteration of the mini-doc. However after the band watched this they then invited Morgan out to Edmonton, Canada to document their final two shows that November to add to the impact of the “Blood is Forever. Love is Forever” documentary. It was during this time that “The Final Performance” was also shot. The documentary was released in October 2025 and was positively received by the Metal & Hardcore communities.

In November 2025, The Alternative were then invited to Rutherford, New Jersey to attend a screening of the “Blood is Forever. Love is Forever” documentary and “The Final Performance”, along with a live Q&A with the band’s bassist, Kyle Johnson, and Morgan Tedd (read Morgan’s blog on the experience here!)

The cultural impact and outcome of documenting a moment such as this, is a hard thing to quantify. But through the feedback from the fans of Misery Signals we can see that the above work hasn't just reached a global audience, it has moved them, inspired them, and has meant a great deal to them.  It means so much to a creative team, to create something that doesn't just deliver on a brief, but truly creates an emotional resonance.
