‘Blood is Forever, Love is forever’ Nominated at the Birmingham Film Festival.

Our Creative Director, Morgan Tedd, has been nominated for Best Documentary at the 2026 Birmingham Film Festival Awards for his documentary ‘Blood is Forever, Love is Forever.’

This nomination marks another milestone in a project that has been years in the making, documenting our longstanding creative relationship with American/Canadian metalcore band Misery Signals and their final chapter as a band.

The Story

Morgan has been working closely with Misery Signals since May 2020, when he directed and shot their music video for ‘The Tempest’, the first song released from what would become their final album, ‘Ultraviolet’.

He went on to direct and shoot the video for ‘Sunlifter', and ‘Live: In Isolation’, a 45-minute live performance filmed during the pandemic, which Morgan directed and edited, as well as taking part in a live Q&A with the band.

When Misery Signals announced their final tour dates in 2024, Morgan was invited to attend and film their final UK show in London that August. What began as an opportunity to capture the London show became the first iteration of what would eventually become the documentary.

After seeing the initial mini-documentary, the band invited Morgan to travel to Edmonton, Canada, to film their final two shows in November 2024. This additional footage expanded the impact of the documentary, capturing the band's final performances and the closing chapter of their career from a much wider perspective.

The completed ‘Blood is Forever, Love is Forever.’ documentary was released in October 2025, and was positively received within the Metal and Hardcore communities. Rather than simply documenting a series of final shows, the project captures the culmination of a creative relationship that had begun five years earlier, and the significance Misery Signals had for the community surrounding them.

In November 2025, we were invited to Rutherford, New Jersey, for a special screening of and a live Q&A with Misery Signals bassist Kyle Johnson and Morgan, giving the audience an opportunity to hear directly from both the band and the filmmaker about the making of the documentary and the band's final chapter.

Now, ‘Blood is Forever, Love is Forever.’ is heading to the Birmingham Film Festival, where it has been nominated for Best Documentary.

What began with a creative relationship in 2020 ultimately became a document of the end of one of the most influential bands in the Metalcore and Hardcore communities. And now, ‘Blood is Forever, Love is Forever.’ gets another opportunity to be seen on the big screen, this time in Morgan’s hometown of Birmingham.

The film will screen on Saturday 7th November 2026 at 10:00am (tickets are free, and can be booked here) and the festival will culminate in its Awards Gala on Saturday 14th November, where the winner will be announced.

Wish us luck, and hopefully we’ll be back with great news on the 15th November!
